In a presentation to the American Sociological Association, Donald Light, professor of comparative health policy at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, concluded that Americans are likely to be exposed to unacceptable side effects of FDA-approved drugs because of flaws in the way new drugs are tested and marketed. "Drug disasters are literally built into the current system of drug testing and approvals in the United States," he opined ...
