  2. Southern California BioGENEius Challenge:
    1. Selecting outstanding Southern California high school students to compete on an international stage with some of the brightest scientific minds in the world during the Annual International BIO Convention.
  3. SoCalBio provides industry guidance to local colleges on how to adjust curricula to meet industry needs:
    1. Conducting industry surveys to identify company talent needs
    2. Serving on industry advisory boards of local colleges, such as Mission College, North Orange County Community College District, Moorpark College, and Ventura College; and workforce development institutions, such as LA City WEDD
  4. Designing Specific programs to meet industry needs. Initiatives include:
    1. Help launching a Biomanufacturing Technician Training Program for entry-level job seekers at Los Angeles Valley College
    2. Supporting LATTC’s Bioprocessing Technician Training Program
    3. Help launching the micro-assembly technician training program at College of the Canyons
    4. Supporting the creation of the Biotechnology Professional Master’s Program at the Cal State University System
    5. Supporting programs for lab technician training at various community colleges in Southern California through partnership with LA/Orange County Biotechnology Center
  5. Events for Partnership formation:

Through its Workforce Summit, SoCalBio provides a forum for bioscience company executives, workforce development professionals, educators, and public policy makers to network and exchange information.
