Held on March 29, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., in downtown Los Angeles, the BIO / SoCalBio roundtable for the Greater LA biotech industry featured biotech company executives, representatives of economic development departments in local municipalities; economic development corporations, chambers of commerce, foundations and patient advocates, educators, and tech transfer officers from local research institutions.
The roundtable shed light on the continued growth of biotech commercialization activities throughout the Greater Los Angeles region. In addition, the roundtable helped kick-off BIO’s outreach in Los Angeles for the 2017 BIO International Convention which is taking place in San Diego June 19-22. The BIO International Convention regularly attracts over 16,000 of the most significant life science leaders from around the globe, offering four days of professional and business development opportunities.
SoCalBio hopes that the roundtable helped make the case for attracting the BIO Convention to Greater Los Angeles at a future date. SoCalBio believes that holding this convention in our region will be instrumental in promoting and increasing the national and international profile of our emerging biotech cluster.
